Two hundred and six road-building problems, in order of difficulty. Your child lays a route from a starting point to an end point, rolls the ball, and finds out immediately whether they were right.

In everyday use

It sits on a table or a rug and stays out. The instruction book takes it from a route a four-year-old can solve in thirty seconds up to one that will genuinely occupy an eight-year-old, and because the challenges are numbered, a child can see their own progress without anyone marking it. Two cars and two colours of start and end point mean two children can compete, or one can run both routes at once.

The edit

Logic puzzles for this age usually fail in one of two ways: too easy for too long, or impossible without help. A graded set of 206 challenges solves both. The child works alone, checks their own answer by rolling a ball, and moves on — which is exactly the independent, self-correcting loop this kind of toy is supposed to create. It is one of the few things in a toy box that a child gets measurably better at.
