Aviora Family™ Little Hands Montessori Board

Aviora Family™ Little Hands Montessori Board

A wooden board with sliding pieces, colours on one side and shapes on the other. Draw a card, set the timer, and your child has a problem to solve — one with a right answer they can find on their own.

In everyday use

It is small enough to sit on a lap in a car and flat enough to go in a bag, so it becomes the quiet activity for waiting rooms and long journeys. At home it works at the table, where the timer turns it into a game rather than an exercise. Younger children just slide the pieces and name the colours; older ones work the puzzle properly, which is the point of a board with two difficulty levels printed on opposite faces.

Key features

Two sides, two skills
Colour matching on one face — blue, yellow, green and red — and shape matching on the other, with a square, circle, triangle and star.

Sliding puzzle mechanics
Pieces move within the frame rather than lifting out, so nothing gets lost under the sofa.

Cards and a timer
Draw a card, set the hourglass, and solve it before the sand runs out.

Hand-polished wood
Smooth, burr-free wooden construction that stands up to being dropped.

Made for travel
Flat, self-contained, and quiet — the three things a car toy has to be.

The edit

Sliding puzzles are one of the few genuinely difficult toys a four-year-old can attempt without help, because the constraint does the teaching: you cannot lift a piece out, so you have to think a move ahead. Adding cards and a timer turns that into a game with stakes. And because nothing detaches, it is the rare puzzle that still has all its pieces a year later.
