Aviora Family™ Wooden First Steps Walker

Aviora Family™ Wooden First Steps Walker

The problem with learning to walk is that the walker goes faster than the walker does. This one has adjustable resistance, so it moves at the speed your baby is actually ready for — steady enough to lean on, slow enough to trust.

In everyday use

It starts as something to pull up on and stands still while that happens. Once your baby is upright, the speed control gives them enough resistance to push against without the whole thing shooting away across the floor. Silent rubber wheels mean it can be used on a wooden floor without marking it or waking anyone. When the walking is done for the day, the front panel — mirrors, gears and other things to turn — keeps them busy sitting down, and the storage compartment at the back becomes somewhere to take toys from room to room.

The edit

A walker that rolls freely teaches a baby to fall over. Resistance is the entire design question here, and it is the reason this is worth choosing over a plastic push-along: it can be tuned down when your baby is unsteady and opened up when they are not. The activity panel is what stops it from being useless in the weeks between — and the storage box at the back is the detail children actually use it for once they can walk.
