A hundred and twelve double-sided cards, 224 words, and a reader small enough for a toddler to hold in one hand. They push a card in, it says the word, and it makes the sound the animal makes — and then they do it again, about forty times.
In everyday use
At 10.7 by 9 cm and 64 grams it goes anywhere: in a bag, in a car, in a coat pocket. Your child inserts and removes the cards themselves, which is the whole appeal — it is theirs to operate. Seven volume levels means you can turn it down for a train and up for a garden. It charges over micro USB in three hours and runs for five, and it shuts itself off after three minutes of nothing happening, so it does not quietly flatten itself in a bag.
