Aviora Family™ Magnetic Discovery Blocks

Aviora Family™ Magnetic Discovery Blocks

A hundred and fifty magnetic pieces, printed on both sides. Flat on the rug they are a picture; picked up at the edges they become a house, a tower, or something that only makes sense to the person who built it.

In everyday use

They live in a box in the living room and come out most days. Younger children start flat — laying pieces out, matching the printed themes, seeing what fits next to what. Then at some point a wall goes up, and the same set becomes three-dimensional. Because they hold well through several layers, a build survives being carried across the room, which is usually where a magnetic set falls apart.

Key features

150 pieces
Enough to build something substantial rather than something that runs out halfway.

Printed on both sides
Dual-sided themes, so a piece can be part of two different pictures depending on which way it lands.

Neodymium magnets
Strong enough to hold multi-layered builds together instead of collapsing at the third storey.

Ultrasonic welding
The magnets are sealed inside the pieces rather than glued in.

Reinforced plastic, smooth edges
Built for repeated tipping out and stepping on.

UV printed
The colours are printed rather than applied as a film, with no adhesives holding them on.

Mixes with other sets
Compatible with other magnetic block sets, so it extends what you already own.

The edit

Magnetic tiles succeed or fail on magnet strength, because a child who builds a tower that falls over on its own stops building towers. Neodymium magnets and welded — rather than glued — construction are what make this set hold together at four and five layers. Everything else follows from that: the flat play, the 3D play, and the fact that the box still has 150 pieces in it a year later.
