In everyday use

Start with the pedals on and the rear wheels wide, and it is a stable trike. Take the pedals off and it becomes a balance bike, which is where most of the real learning happens. Narrow the rear wheels and it turns into a two-wheeler. The handlebar adjusts through four levels and 180 degrees, so the fit keeps up. At 8.5 lbs and folding, it goes in a boot or a cupboard rather than living in the hall.
