Aviora Family™ Élan Silicone Baby Bib

Aviora Family™ Élan Silicone Baby Bib

Meals get everywhere. A cloth bib absorbs it and then has to be washed; this one does not absorb anything at all. It wipes clean at the sink in about five seconds, which is the entire argument for it.

In everyday use

It hangs on the back of a chair rather than going in the laundry basket. Put it on at the start of the meal, take it off at the end, rinse it under the tap and hang it back up. It comes into its own with the messiest stage of weaning — the one where more food lands on the front than in the mouth — and it works just as well for a four-year-old with a bowl of soup.

Key features

Wipes clean
Food-grade silicone that rinses under a tap. No soaking, no stain, no washing machine.

Waterproof front
Nothing soaks through to the clothes underneath, which is the difference between one outfit a day and three.

Solid colour
Plain, without print or pattern, so it looks like part of the kitchen rather than a novelty.

Covers a wide age range
Sized for children from around one to six years.

The edit

Bibs are bought by the packet and then quietly resented, because every one of them turns into laundry. Silicone breaks that cycle: the bib that gets used is the one that is clean again before the table is cleared. Plain and unpatterned, it stays out on a chair without cluttering the room — and it outlasts an entire drawer of cloth ones.
